ALL DRIVING LESSONS are structured to meet your requirements in accordance with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). We will draw up a personally tailored record card, based on the syllabus for learning to drive and listing all the competences for safe driving. This means both you and the instructor will have a detailed record of progress being made.

THE THEORY TEST is made up of two parts; multiple choice and hazard perception. In the multiple choice part you will be asked 50 questions over a period of 57 minutes: you need to answer 43 correctly to pass. The hazard perception part consists of 14 video clips with at least one developing hazard; one clip has two. You can score a maximum of 5 points per clip and the pass mark is 44.

You need to pass both parts to pass the theory test. Once you have passed it you can then apply to take your practical driving test.

THE PRACTICAL TEST BEGINS with an eyesight check and some vehicle safety questions. The driving part lasts for about 40 minutes and you are allowed to make 15 faults and still pass. If one is dangerous or one serious, however, then you will fail.

MOTORWAY LESSONS ARE FOR any driver with a full driving licence. New drivers will not have driven on a motorway and apart from additional lanes and the volume of traffic, there are also rules and signs that only pertain to motorways. All aspects of driving will be covered in Motorway Lessons, as well as what to do in an emergency or if you have a breakdown.

Remember that motorways are by far the safest roads to drive on, so long as you have been properly trained.
